Charley Boorman, the son of acclaimed film director John Boorman has carved a career out of travel & adventure. He helped push open the door of motorcycle adventure travel with his classic TV show, Long Way Round accompanied by his great friend Ewan McGregor. This was subsequently followed by numerous other big hits, including Race to Dakar, Long Way Down, By Any Means and Extreme Frontiers. His new show Extreme Frontiers USA releases in the UK in early 2014 with DVD to follow.
Later this year, November, Charley’s very successful & entertaining theatre show ‘An Evening with Charley Boorman’ will be touring Australia in conjunction with Premiere Productions. This is a ‘not to be missed’ show, revealing tales of adventure & stories from Hollywood & beyond. With big video screen & some never before seen clips, you’ll be entertained in a great atmosphere of adventure, motorbikes & fun. As well as the theatre tour, Charley will return to Australia in February 2014 to take part in two incredible adventure motorcycle rides using his trusty BMW Adventure bike. The first is from Sydney into the outback and the second will tour Tasmania and the High Country. Both rides will be with Australia’s leading adventure motorcycle company, Compass Expeditions, who organise similar trips like this all over the globe, and if you have a bike license you can join him! These adventure rides were such a massive success in 2013, Charley was keen to rerun them again in 2014.
Australia is one of Charley favourite places. He’s holidayed here and filmed here. As Charley said “…riding across Australia’s beautiful landscapes is heavenly. I’ll be riding my trusty BMW GS Adventure with a group of like-minded people again in 2014. A recipe for fun and adventure – can’t wait.”
