Grade 4 Bike Tour
The road conditions vary from graded red dust highway to tarmac. Our chosen route stays clear of the main highways as much as possible and takes rural secondary routes. Difficult off-road riding is avoided. Be aware that in Cambodia there are many extra hazards on the roads from, dogs, cattle, water Buffalo, Tuk Tuks and daily village life, however it all adds up to plenty to look at and appreciate along the away.

On our Cambodia Motorcycle Tour we use the most suitable bikes for the situation; the Honda XR 250cc, Suzuki DRs & the BMW Funduro G650 (limited numbers). There are very few bikes in Cambodia larger than a 125cc so you will find that we will be on the standout bike and one that is more suitable to the road conditions and general pace of the local traffic.
After exploring Phnom Penh and an introduction to the motorcycles, we leave the city after receiving a good luck blessing from the local Buddhist Monastery, and head down along the mighty Mekong to the quite river town of Kompong Cham. From here we take the good roads up into the hills of the Mondolkiri district to the capital, Sen Monorom, with the chance to visit a minority hill tribe village and an Elephant rescue project, as well as the stunning local waterfalls. Heading back out of the hills and riding our motorbikes back along the mighty Mekong river, we arrive at the former French stronghold of Kratie where we get to stay on an Island on the river in a unique hotel, and from here we ride out a short distance to then take a small boat to go in search of the rare and endangered Mekong River or Irrawaddy (Dolphin). Then we continue North to the town of Stung Treng situated on the banks of another major river, the Stung Sen.
Week two of our Cambodia Motorcycle Tour begins with us taking a local ferry across the Stung Sen and a beautiful ride through the remote and sparsely populated forests, all the way across to one of Cambodia’s best kept secrets, the temple of Koh Ker. Dating from around the same time as Angkor Wat, this site has the added benefit of being remote, ensuring that not a great deal of tourists leave the well beaten paths to visit this Archaeological Gem. After that we press onto Siem Reap which is truly the heartland of ancient Khmer culture, home to the world renown Angkor Wat, this place will leave you in awe of the skill and culture of the ancients. After Siem Reap we then take the exciting, and at times challenging ride through the Cardomon National Park, viewing what is left of Cambodia’s once vast Tropical Rainforests, to the Thai influenced town of Koh Kong then we take the fantastic road South East to our final stop at the Beach resort town of Kompong Som to stay in a relaxing resort giving you a chance to enjoy the tropical surroundings, take boat trips, go snorkelling or just enjoy the wonderful beachside restaurants, before heading off to flights home or further adventures.
