October 30, 2017 By Craig Jackson

It’s time to start planning for the 2018 Compass Expeditions Reunion.

Next year the dates will be 14th – 15th of April and will be visiting the wonderful NSW South Coast region, around Merimbula, wonderfully located halfway between Sydney & Melbourne, for some incredible riding, good company and great tucker.

This reunion is open only to past Compass clients family & friends

Lunch will be at 1pm on the Saturday and afterwards we will take in some of the great motorcycling roads in the area for an afternoon ride.

Dinner, entertainment (guest speaker, Amy Harburg, who is one of three women who made up the first International Women’s GS Trophy team), and the presentation of our photo competition winners will be held on Saturday night at a local restaurant. We will be enjoying the country hospitality and comfortable beds of the Pelican Motor Inn in Merimbula.

Breakfast at the hotel is included with your accommodation and after checkout we will have a couple of ride options.  Your preference for twisty tar or winding dirt roads will be catered for.

More information, including maps and the location for lunch will follow, but please book your rooms early through the following booking link:

2018 Compass Expeditions Reunion

The photo competition is open to all who would like to supply a (single) high-resolution photo taken on a Compass Expeditions tour or major expedition. Please give me some detail to include with the image as well as the tour it was taken on. We will have some great prizes for the winners.

Please send your photo competition entries as well as any questions that you may have to craig@compassexpeditions.com

What’s included?

  • Catered lunch & drinks
  • Pre dinner drinks
  • Dinner
  • 1 night Accommodation based on twin share
  • Breakfast
  • Evening entertainment
  • Ride leader & support crew for Saturday ride out

Cost:  $150 per person, twin share.

Compass Reunion 5-day ride out

Due to frequent requests we have decided to extend the reunion event to include a 5-day ride out exploring the ample ride opportunities that abound in this region.

To keep things consistent with the Compass Expeditions experience we will limit rider numbers and keep this more of a bespoke tour rather than a “Roadshow”. We hope to make this a yearly ride event to a different location around Australia.

Also consistent with the Compass experience is thorough research, great riding and a real social event. For details of the 5-day ride out keep reading!

Join Compass Expeditions from Sunday 15th April to Friday 20th April 2018, immediately after our annual weekend reunion. This superb 5-day ride explores an amazing strip of national parks that form part of the NSW South Coast known as the Sapphire Coast, as well as the mountainous forests of the South East Forest National Park.

The South East Forests National Park features large areas of tall forests, numerous streams with waterfalls and waterholes, upland swamps, escarpments, gorges, high peaks and stunning panoramic views.

The beautiful Sapphire Coast is renown for stunning beaches, spectacular wilderness, exhilarating riding and charming towns and villages.

Compass Expeditions have planned two superb routes, each day, one being mostly off road, exploring the trails and forestry tracks & the other that is strictly on road riding further into the highlands and coastal escarpments of the area. This is a stunning region that hasn’t been ridden to death by every man and his dog!

We will base ourselves at Merimbula for all six nights, eliminating the need to pack / unpack everyday and allow for partners who choose not to ride, or those who want a day off the bike, to enjoy the beaches, have a massage, play golf, go fishing or simply relax in the hotel pool. Each day’s ride will offer a new route with a differing terrain and challenges.

This ride is open to past Compass Expeditions clients, family, friends & bikers in general.

What’s Included

  • 6 nights accommodation
  • 6 breakfasts & dinners
  • GPS Tracklog and track indicators
  • Services of support vehicle
  • Ride leader and sweep rider

Cost: We have kept this ride to $990 per person to remain consistent with our great value rides around the world.

Total for the weekend reunion & 5-day ride out, if booked together, is a discounted $1100

General information: For those not wanting to ride their own bikes riders can rent a Compass Expeditions BMW F700, F800 & R1200 GS or Suzuki DR 650. Please contact us early at info@compassexpeditions.com as bikes are limited.

For those needing assistance to ship their bikes from interstate please contact us at info@compassexpeditions.com
